Kawana Aquatic Centre is the cornerstone of the sporting heart of the Sunshine Coast. This much-loved community facility, which has long served as a hub for water-based recreation, has undergone an extensive transformation, bringing together innovation, functionality, and cutting-edge design.
Stage One of the redevelopment delivered a new, state-of-the-art indoor program pool. The 20-metre, five-lane heated pool replaced the existing indoor pool, creating a purpose-built environment for learn-to-swim and water safety programs, welcoming swimmers of all ages and abilities.
Stage Two brought a major transformation to the site, with the demolition and complete rebuild of the amenities, administration, entry, and kiosk buildings. The upgrade introduced a striking new entryway, providing a welcoming and visually striking arrival experience. The project also included a full refurbishment of the carpark, delivering improved access and upgraded surfaces.
Operating within a live site and under a tight timeframe, Murphy Builders worked closely with Sunshine Coast Council to ensure all project and client expectations were not only met but exceeded.
