Murphy Builders has always been based in Mooloolaba on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Our office today is only a short walk from where we first opened our doors decades ago.
Murphy Builders began in 1975 with just three employees. Today, we have over 100 dedicated team members, supported by a trusted network of reliable and quality suppliers and subcontractors.
Murphy Builders is a genuine family business. Leigh Murphy has codirected alongside his daughter, Brooke Bastien for over two decades, with Mark Berry by his side for more than 25 years.

Murphy Builders holds third party certification in recognition of the implementation of a Safety Management System conforming to ISO/DIS 14001 and is an accredited builder with the Office of the Federal Safety Commission (OFSC) under ‘The Australian Government Building and Construction WHS Accreditation Scheme (the Scheme)’.
The OFSC criteria for WHS far exceeds guidelines and expectations as outlined in the general standards of the WHS Act 2011, the WHS Regulations 2011, the code of Practice for Building Construction and all other legislation. Murphy Builders is committed to providing safe, healthy and productive workplaces and accepts that, so far as reasonably practicable, all Murphy Builders employees and subcontractors working on projects should be able to attend to their duties without risk of injury and in a safe and healthy working environment.
Murphy Builders recognises that legal compliance is regarded as a minimum standard. The objective is to ensure that all Murphy Builders activities promote and preserve Health and Safety with a Management System that not only benchmarks the legislative criteria, but also encourages work to a higher standard. Murphy Builders expects a high standard of Health and Safety on all their sites and have implemented a Safety Management System that supports this as a priority.
Murphy Builders is certified to the International Quality System Standard ISO 9001:2015. Policies and procedures have been developed within the organisation that detail methods for quality in construction, and these are used as the basis for establishing quality objectives and targets.
Identified critical points during administration and construction are assessed to determine their compliance with the Quality Standard through regular review auditing, inspection and testing. Certification is an ongoing process that promotes continuous improvement which gives Murphy Builders and their clients the confidence that their systems are working efficiently and meet International and Australian Standards of excellence.

Murphy Builders comply with all the relevant laws that address the needs of protecting the environment in accordance with ISO/DIS 14001. Best practice management is adopted across our operations and also comply with the environmental policies of our clients. Additionally, we require all subcontractors to uphold these same environmental values.
