Set beachside and surrounded by the spectacular natural beauty of the Coral Sea and Mooloolaba coastline, the new Mooloolaba Boardwalk and Parklands provide a breathtaking destination for locals and visitors alike.
The 450-metre boardwalk is suspended above the coastline and seamlessly integrated into the cliff-face, creating a scenic link between Mooloolaba and Alexandra Headland. Designed to preserve the surrounding environment, the elevated structure minimises ground disturbance, protects existing landscaping, and maintained the site’s natural topography without the need for excavation.
The nearby playground features a large climbing net, a nature-inspired tower with rope tunnels, ladders and slides for all ages, and an eight-seater swing sheltered beneath expansive shade sails. Complementing the play area are new beach access points with showers, shaded barbecue facilities, picnic tables with umbrellas, and well-appointed amenities.
As evening falls, the park is beautifully illuminated, inviting visitors to stroll, relax, and enjoy the sound of the surf and the spectacular Southern Pacific Ocean views both day and night.
This project increased Mooloolaba’s beachfront parkland by an impressive 40%. Stages 1A and 1B of the Mooloolaba Foreshore Revitalisation Project were completed in 2021, much to the delight of the Sunshine Coast Council and the local community.
