RECENT DONATIONS
DANIEL MORCOMBE FOUNDATION
Murphy Builders teamed up with the Daniel Morcombe Foundation to build ‘Daniel House’ in Palmwoods on the Sunshine Coast and was completed in 2019. Daniel House is the Sunshine Coast centre for the Daniel Morcombe Foundations Walk Tall counselling service helping hundreds of children and families recover from trauma each year. The Foundation also provides parents, carers and professionals with evidence-based resources for children and young people’s personal safety education.
BUILD IF FOR THE KIDS
Build if for the Kids is an initiative where Murphy Builders and the Daniel Morcombe Foundation work with generous local trades, suppliers, and the community to build a home which is auctioned off at completion. Each stakeholder involved donates their time and/or resources to the build, and 100% of the profits go to the Foundation and keeping our kids safe.
STEPS PATHWAYS PROJECT
Murphy Builders joined STEPS charity, and an amazing number of Sunshine Coast trades and businesses, to provide Australia’s first live-in training home for young people with disabilities.
Spearheaded by the team at Murphy’s, this facility is worth $1.2M and was provided free of charge to the charity.
The Steps Pathways Project looks to teach young disabled adults how to live, work and socialise without parental guidance. All trades and suppliers generously donated their time, products, skills and resources to this worthwhile cause.
VANUATU SCHOOL
Murphy Builders believes in education – for everyone. The company owners helped fund and worked closely with local Ni-Vanuatu (natives) and residents of Aore Island, Vanuatu to build the Bernier Bay School for the local children to attend.
Murphy’s also organised a fundraising drive and helped pay for building materials, books and school supplies for Bernier Bay School.
GIVE TO VANUATU
After Tropical Cyclone Pam hit The Republic of Vanuatu in 2015, hundreds of thousands of people’s lives were thrown into turmoil and the country faced devastation. Give to Vanuatu collects money and desperately needed supplies to help those affected rebuild their lives.
The team at Murphy Builders organized a large donation drive and funded a shipping container full of relief goods to be shipped over to the brave victims.
CHRISTMAS APPEAL
Christmas is a time for giving at Murphy Builders. Every year, the team at Murphy’s put together large hampers of food, books or gifts for disadvantaged families across Queensland.
Working with Shine Community Care, The Smith Family and other like-minded organisations, the company and employees dig deep and donate to those in need, ensuring the holidays look a little brighter for the less fortunate.
WISH LIST ROW FOR CANCER
The annual Row for Cancer event raises funds for cancer patients and their families on the Sunshine Coast. Putting the “fun” in fundraiser, Murphy Builders sponsors teams to participate in races of kayaks, dragon boats, outriggers, surfboats, paddleboards and more.
Murphy Builders has been a proud participant of this fun team building experience, helping to raise money for those affected by cancer.
