Humpty Doo Dental Project
MODERNISING REMOTE AREAS
Murphy Builders was appointed as the head contractor on the Humpty Doo Dental project in the Northern Territory to construct the facility within a tight programme and budget. Humpty Doo Dental consists of a five-chair surgery on ground floor and staff accommodation on level 1. The complex also has a training area for final-year dentistry students who fly in from James Cook University in Queensland on three monthly rotations.
Murphy Builders provided a service that identified opportunities for saving time and money throughout construction, whilst never compromising on quality. Some of the key project requirements for the delivery of the Centre were to:
provide a modern and commercially realistic facility based on the project design documentation; achieve compliance and meet requirements of the client and Northern Territory Health; produce accommodation that meets the needs of staff and to a high quality encouraging long term retention and; provide value for money and implement savings which are not to the detriment of the facility but to enable better allocation of funds.
Throughout the project Murphy Builders provided added value by taking ownership of construction through positive coordination of the consultant teams, suppliers and subcontractors seeing this unique project come to life.
